If a member experiences a medical problem while travelling, our Operations Centre can activate appropriate medical support, assist with arrangements for admission or appointments, coordinate ambulance or medical transport and support communication between the member, medical facility and insurer where appropriate. Where a situation becomes more serious, we can also coordinate medical transportation, evacuation or repatriation through suitable specialist providers.

Medical diagnosis and treatment remain the responsibility of appropriately qualified healthcare professionals. Medical treatment, ambulance charges, transportation, evacuation and other third-party costs are separately payable unless funded by an insurer, employer or another responsible party.

Some travel problems require physical assistance. Global Traveller can activate vetted drivers, security personnel, local coordinators, interpreters, transportation and logistics support when required. We can also assist following theft, loss of essential belongings or travel documents, help a member reach a safer location and coordinate practical support during unrest, security incidents or deteriorating local conditions.

Our Operations Centre remains involved in managing the response rather than simply referring the member elsewhere.

Where circumstances require a member to be moved, Global Traveller can activate and coordinate an appropriate transportation or evacuation solution. Depending on the circumstances, this may include secure ground transport, ambulance movement, cross-border relocation, commercial air travel, medical evacuation or specialist aviation support.

The appropriate response will depend on local conditions, access, legal restrictions and provider availability. Transportation, aircraft, deployed personnel and other third-party costs are separately payable unless funded by an insurer, employer or another responsible party.

Where a member is experiencing a genuine travel-related emergency and cannot reasonably access their own money, Global Traveller may provide or arrange an Emergency Travel Advance of up to £500. This can support immediate essential expenses such as transport, temporary accommodation, communications or emergency documentation.

Emergency Travel Advances are discretionary and subject to identity verification, operational availability and an acceptable repayment undertaking or guarantee. Any amount advanced is repayable in full and is not an insurance benefit or grant.
